Pixel pitch
Readability
- Typically 6–16 mm for billboards.
- Rule of thumb: pitch (mm) ≈ viewing distance (m) ÷ 10–12.
- Highway reads 10–16 mm; urban gateways and corners 6–10 mm.
Brightness & visual comfort
- Day: 7,000–12,000 nits, sun-readable.
- Night: auto-dimming curves with caps (e.g. 300–500 nits per code).
- CCT ~6500K by day; optional warm shift for late night.
Optics & image performance
- Wide viewing cone: 140–160° horizontal, 60–80° vertical; low-glare lenses.
- High refresh (≥ 3,840 Hz) for video and cameras; 14–16-bit greyscale.
- High-contrast masks; anti-UV LEDs resist colour shift.
